The Queen’s Club Foundation is delighted to announce that in June we awarded 11 new grants. In total 6 organisations and 5 players have been given a grant to assist them in their own unique ambitions and goals.
The Queen’s Club Foundation is committed to supporting a variety of projects across the entire breadth of the country. As such, in this funding round we have awarded a grant to Arnside Tennis Club, located in Cumbria, for them to run tennis for children in the local community over the summer holidays. While, in contrast we have given grant to Hampshire County Squash Association for them to expand their junior squash programme aimed at getting more children playing squash.
As a charity we are extremely passionate about ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to access sport. Therefore, we are thrilled to supporting Swavesey Squash Club with their project targeting the promotion of squash to girls and women, whose participation levels in the sport is often limited.
One of the key cornerstones of the Foundation remit is to support individuals to achieve their full potential, whatever their level and ambition. Thus, we are so pleased to be supporting a young squash player, Ellie, who has ambitions to not only become the County champion in her region, but who also wishes to take a refereeing course so that she can give back to the game.
As the official charity of The Queen’s Club, the Foundation is committed to supporting all the four racket sports of Queen’s. Consequently, we are excited to have the opportunity to support our first rackets player, Tom Billings. As part of his grant with QCF Tom is committed to promoting the sport of rackets and to help the sport grow to the next generation of younger players.
We wish all of our grantees the best for the coming year, and are excited to share with you their progress and stories. For the latest news be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels and follow us @QueensClubFdn.
