17 New Grants Awarded

The Queen’s Club Foundation is delighted to announce that in August we awarded 17 new grants. In total 11 organisations and 6 players have been given a grant to assist them in their own unique ambitions and goals.

The Queen’s Club Foundation is committed to supporting a range of projects throughout England and Wales. In this funding round we awarded a grant to The Britannia Youth Organisation, located in Birmingham, for them to run tennis for children in the local community. While, in further south we have given grant to Plymouth Sports charity to run specialist tennis sessions for people living chronic health conditions.

As a charity we want everyone to have an equal opportunity to access sport. Therefore, we are thrilled to supporting The Change Foundation project aimed at providing tennis and leadership skills to young people living with disabilities. This project will enable these young people to bring tennis back to their local communities and share the skills that they have learnt.

One of the key aims of the Foundation is to support individuals to achieve their full potential, whatever their level and ambition. After the success of supporting Metro Blind Sport’s VI tennis sessions for the past 12 months, QCF are delighted to now be supporting two visually impaired players. Ivan and Ewan are two of the best VI players in the country, and we are so thrilled to help them reach the next stage in their careers.

As the official charity of The Queen’s Club, the Foundation is committed to supporting all the four racket sports of Queen’s. Consequently, we are excited to have the opportunity to support Hampton’s Court Real Tennis schools’ programme. They will be inviting local secondary state schools to have introductory taster sessions at Hampton Court, and also be starting a beginners programme linked to the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

We wish all of our grantees the best for the coming year, and are excited to share with you their progress and stories. For the latest news be sure to keep an eye on our social media channels and follow us @QueensClubFdn.
