On Thursday 3rd May, the sun were shining and the clay courts were swept ready for our Inaugural Tennis Tournament. With 40 tennis players taking part in a doubles tournament both charities battled it out to win the trophy.
We were delighted to have Tim Henman supporting the day playing for the Mustique team and our very own head of Lawn Tennis, Lee Childs representing the QCF team. Both pros reached the final. It was a tense finals match with QCF taking the victory!
Fresh from the courts Queen’s Club hosted lunch in our President’s Room, overlooking centre court. During lunch there was a live auction raising funds for both charities.
It was a pleasure having the UK Friends of the Mustique Charitable Trust here at the Club and we look forward to the challenge next year.
With thanks to John Timpson for providing the magnificent trophy (already being polished for the 2019 rematch). With thanks to everyone who came over from Mustique and making the day a success.
Save the date: Thursday 2nd May 2019.
