First Stop of the VI Roadshow Brings Enthusiasm and Valuable Learning to Battersea Park

The Queen’s Club Foundation was delighted to launch the first stop of the VI Roadshow at Battersea Park in partnership with Enthuse, as part of the Queen’s Club Foundation and Middlesex Tennis Inclusive Hotspots Project.

The session marked an important step in the development of visually impaired tennis opportunities within the local community. It provided a valuable opportunity for coaches, volunteers and players to come together, share experiences and strengthen connections within the VI tennis network.

A key focus of the day was knowledge sharing. Our Head Coach worked alongside the Enthuse coach who will be delivering future sessions, offering guidance on court set-up, equipment and session delivery. We were also fortunate to have one of our experienced VI tennis volunteers in attendance, who shared her expertise and insights to help support the programme's future growth.

The event also enabled Enthuse to connect with local visually impaired players, helping to build a strong foundation for ongoing engagement and participation. Most importantly, the day generated genuine excitement and momentum around the future of the programme, with everyone involved united by a shared passion for making tennis more inclusive and accessible.

As the VI Roadshow continues, we look forward to building on the successes and learnings from Battersea Park, helping to create even more opportunities for visually impaired players to get involved and enjoy the benefits of tennis.

The VI Roadshow forms part of the Queen’s Club Foundation and Middlesex Tennis Inclusive Hotspots Project, which aims to establish locally driven sessions for groups experiencing the greatest barriers to tennis participation. These sessions welcome players who are visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, neurodiverse, from underserved communities, refugees, or affected by homelessness. By working closely with local partners, the programme ensures that each Hotspot reflects community needs and provides a safe, adaptable, and empowering environment for everyone to enjoy the sport.
