On Saturday 2nd February the Queen’s Club Foundation hosted its 3rd annual Table Tennis Tournament at the Queen’s Club.
Held in the President’s Room, players arrived in the morning in high spirits, ready for a day full of competitive fun. Before long the room was bouncing to the sounds of the 80’s, dressed in an amazing array of outfits befitting of the occasion.
A huge thank you must go to our sponsors Signal Beer who kept our competitors refreshed throughout the day, and to HG Walter for providing some delicious food for the competitors to re-energise on during the lunch break.
After a competitive singles tournament the final came down to two first-time entrants Andre and Freddie. The match ebbed and flowed, with the whole room hanging on every hit.
However, Andre finally managed to best Freddie in an epic match, which will go down in QCF Table Tennis history, to claim the title. Whilst in the Doubles tournament Nathan and Fabio reigned supreme, vanquishing all before them.
A massive thank you to everyone who entered, and all of the spectators who came along to help generate a great atmosphere.
We are pleased to announce that the event raised £1,000 for the Foundation. This money will go towards being able to provide more grants for projects in the local area.
If you think that you could claim Andre’s crown, or have an outfit that could win over the judges in the fancy dress competition then keep the beginning of next February free!
