In October the Queen’s Club Foundation launched its Community Tennis Club, offering free weekly tennis sessions to local children. The sessions have been hosted at The Queen’s Club, and run by the Queen’s Club Tennis coaches, who have supported this project.
Part of the QCF mission is to widen participation in communities and inspire individuals to reach their full potential. Although in Hammersmith and Fulham there were projects which introduced young people to tennis, there was previously no project which bridged the gap between entry level and club level, offering ongoing free tennis lessons.
The sessions, held weekly on Sunday mornings, have been split into “Orange” and “Green” Ball to accommodate for a variety of abilities and ages. Our sessions have proved extremely popular with 25 local children, braving the cold for the past few months.
It has been fantastic to see the progress that has been made since October, and with Christmas fast approaching our coaches are reluctant to take a break.
One parent commented; “I am so happy that the Queen’s Club Foundation is enriching our community by offering these invaluable lessons, my son really enjoys them”.
Our new term begins on Sunday 12 January, and we are always open to new members. If you are interested in your child joining the club then please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
