We were delighted to welcome Ben Coleman MP, Member of Parliament for Chelsea and Fulham, to one of our seniors’ dementia‑friendly tennis sessions at Bishop’s Park this week. His visit provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the positive impact of inclusive sport within the local community.

During his time with us, Ben took the opportunity to speak directly with participants, hearing first‑hand about their experiences and the difference these sessions make to their wellbeing. He also joined in on court, gaining a genuine insight into how engaging, accessible tennis activities can build confidence, promote physical health, and create meaningful social connections for older adults, including those living with dementia.

In addition to meeting participants, Ben spent time with our Head of Foundation and Head Coach to learn more about the work of the QCF and our broader mission to improve lives through racket sports. These discussions highlighted our ongoing commitment to making tennis and padel accessible to all, regardless of age, ability, or background.

This session forms part of Rally for Life, a new QCF initiative funded by the LTA Tennis Foundation. The programme is designed to expand opportunities for seniors to engage with tennis and padel, while also supporting venues in becoming more inclusive and dementia‑friendly environments. By combining physical activity with social engagement, Rally for Life aims to enhance both the physical and mental wellbeing of participants.

We would also like to express our sincere thanks to H&F Council for providing free access to the park courts, and to Rocks Lane Multi Sports for their continued support in helping us deliver these sessions.
